“This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of being a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no 'brief candle' to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.”

Michelle:
You are such an inspiration to me. Whenever I am losing myself in the story that I can't make a difference in my company, I honestly think of you and what you are doing at PRC! To think that on the same week that you almost DIDN'T go to your Forum, I was helping you find other jobs on Monster.com. :) I'm so glad you went!
I love you, sis'!

Good morning Giants!
I've shared with you over the past year and a half about the promise that I made a work to not mention Landmark Education as the source of where I learned how to coach and listen the way that I do in my classes. Yesterday my boss gave me permission to share that openly with people who inquire about it!!!! After a year of silence I can now speak out about our work!
I am present to the power of a being a stand - even if the stand is silent. I am also present to the power of patience and surrender. There was absolutely no evidence that this would come about. If I had decided that it was never going to happen because of the way that it looked at the time, and if I would have let fear run the show, I would not have had the courage to have the conversation with her about it in our very first meeting. If I had grown impatient about it, it might not have ever shown up.
And so once again I hear those words ringing in my ears - "Anything you want for yourself and your life is available out of your participation in the Landmark Forum!"
Stand strong!
Love,
Michelle

The character of greatness must be measured in two ways, else the measurement is flawed. First, and by far most popular of all, is by one's ability to succeed in times of trial where others may fail. But of no less importance, and perhaps foundational to any form of greatness, is one's willingness to start over in spite of failure, when success seems farthest away.

Giants' Book Club!!!
Giants:
Saturday, after a few people had left the meeting, I shared with those who were still there about a book that I just finished reading and am still reading – You’ll understand in a minute. :) The book is called The Traveler’s Gift. The premise of the book is a man whose life is completely not what he wants. He’s lost his job and benefits after working at a company for about 20 years, he has no money or insurance to pay for the operation that his daughter leaves, he goes from living fairly well to living on the brink of poverty, and he has a job who treats him not-so-well…
Driving home from work, he begins to speed, not really caring about what happens to him. His car swerves off the road and he blacks out… Then he wakes up in Harry Truman’s office on the day that Truman had made the decision to drop the atomic bomb on Japan… And, hence begins a series of travels to famous people in history on a day of importance – a day where they made a choice that changed the world. Some of the people that he meets are Abraham Lincoln, Anne Frank, and I’ll keep the rest a secret!
Anyway, each person that he visits gives him a gift – It’s a piece of paper with writing on it. What the person has written him is a life decision. The “thing” that has that person live life the way that they have chosen to – powerfully! It’s an amazing book, a very quick and easy read, and has the potential to be life-changing. Why? Because, after you read the book, you’re asked to take on reading each of the 7 life decisions (I prefer the term choices) twice a day for 21 days. If you choose to do that, at the end of 21 days, it is very likely that that life choice has become something more than just words on a paper… it becomes part of your being. I’ve been part of a book club that is doing just that, and it’s really amazing what’s opened up for me inside of living Decision 1 (I don’t want to share yet, b/c I don’t want to ruin it for any of you who want to read the book. :) )
Anyway, those of us who were at the meeting said it would be cool if all of the Giants took on reading the book. :) So, if you’re interested, purchase the book and read it. :) If we all want to take on the 21-day challenge per life choice, we can start that on the same day, and then we can blog what we are getting out of it throughout the 21-day period.
Since there are several people traveling during the month of October, we thought it would be a good idea for everyone to try to get the book and read at least the first few chapters (until you get through Decision One) before the end of October. (Vivi, I checked and could not find the book as an e-book :( ). That way we could begin the 21-day challenge of reading Decision #1 twice a day on Thursday, November 1st. The chapters are very short, and, as I said, the book is a very easy read. This means, Arnie, Michelle, Igor, and Nara, that you guys will be on vacation during the 21 days, so you’ll just encourage and hold one another accountable to reading Decision #1 twice a day during that time. :)
Let me know if this time frame works, if you’re in, and if you’d like to begin on November 1st.
I’m really excited about this. I’ve already done Decision 1 for 21 days, and I’m on Decision 2, but I’ll start again (and keep going).

I can suck myself down into a deep, black hole when I focus on what I think I SHOULD be… more loving, sexy, productive, whatever. Thinking I should be something else means I’m not good enough now. This is poverty thinking and a guaranteed way to be miserable.
I can let go of this suffering by accepting WHAT IS. I can say, “This is how I am right now and that’s okay.” When I first tried this, I could say it but not believe it. Then I began to experience the freedom this perspective brings – just by changing my mind! Now I’m beginning to believe it. What a gift!

Saturday's Meeting
Hi Ingrid -
David and I were wondering if the Meeting was still on. I see on the blog a few comments about Saturday. Is the theme Italian? If so, David and I will bring garlic bread and baked ziti. I am thinking the time is for 6:00 pm, like we usually start. Please let me know if it is different.
Thanks and look forward to seeing all the Giants on Saturday.
Possibility of full self-expression,
Lisa

Hello my Giants
Oh wow how exciting. This is really great. Arnie thank you for getting this done.
I am looking forward to reading much about all of you.
This coming Saturday is our next meeting. I suppose we should start a list of who is coming and what food is also coming. I was thinking Italian. How is that?
Hope to hear from all of you soon.

Hello Giants -
This is really cool! Thanks Arnie for your commitment. Do we share meeting details on the blog, or is that for e-mails only. Not sure how these work.
